Beliefs

We are a congregation of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Our official doctrinal standards are the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. The statements below summarize what we believe.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

God

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Mankind

We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s wrath and condemnation, except by His sovereign mercy.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on individual merit, or foreseen faith.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death, atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.  We believe Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, died, rose from the dead bodily, ascended into heaven, and is coming again.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.  We believe the Holy Spirit equips the children of God with spiritual gifts that benefit the body of Christ.

Second Coming

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

Covenant

After God created Adam, he entered into a Covenant of Life with him. Although Adam broke the covenant and brought death and corruption to all mankind, God was pleased to enter into a second covenant, the Covenant of Grace, with Jesus Christ, his only Son. Jesus fulfilled all of the requirements of this covenant. All those who are united to Christ by faith receive the benefits of this covenant, along with their children.

Man’s Purpose

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
