About Us

Hopewell has stood in the Claussen community outside of Florence, SC since 1770. We are part of the Presbyterian Church, USA , and are a part of New Harmony Presbytery and theSynod of the South Atlantic..

Our membership includes a good mix of families with young children and teenagers, young adults, middle age and older adults. We try to offer everyone an opportunity to worship God, study about God, fellowship with each other, and serve God and others. Our members are very involved in our worship, whether through the Choir, the Praise Choir, or worshiping in the pews.

We have two Presbyterian Women’s circles – one that meets the first Tuesday of every month and the other that meets the second Saturday of every month .They have joint meetings for fellowship and mission several times a year.The Presbyterian Women at Hopewell are very active and support many different missions in the community and around the world. Hopewell has a Men’s Club group that meets the second Thursday of every month. The Men’s Club holds a fundraiser every year on the last Wednesday of February to raise money to use to help others in our community and around the world.
Hopewell offers many opportunities for fellowship and learning for our youth.The youth meet every week during the school year on Wednesday nights after our 6:00 Family Night supper and have special events such as lock ins throughout the year. Our youth are involved in worship and many other activities.Many of our young people enjoy a week at summer camp at Camp Pee Dee.

The members of Hopewell enjoy fellowship times on many occasions.If there is a reason to get together and fellowship, we’ll do it
